Nice delta.
Now I can go to work tomorrow refreshed as having been flying today. Trouble is, two hours and its as if I've not had a week end at all.
In the process of moving in.
The weather brought out a few more pilots than usual today. Wall to wall sunshine and a (cold) light breeze 6 - 8 mph from the North-West. Flew the Yak and the Sunbeam, and Malcolm asked me to fly his Flair Magnatilla, a maiden flight. Powered by an OS52fs four stroke engine it had plenty of oomph! Required some trim adjustments, and an increase in aileron and elevator movement, and some more down thrust on the engine to stop the "ballooning". All this knowledge is good information for me when I start building my Flair Legionaire for my Ketro KT54fs.
Sorry there's no pictures of todays flying, I forgot the camera.
Crowded...
It was worth going today, as Ian turned up and flew his Excelsior and F15. Spectacular.
Ians Excelsior
Ians F15 - Sorry about the quality, it was recorded on a mobile phone.
This Also flew this afternoon, powered by twin Irvine 30s.
Fixture for machining conrods
The process begins
...And I've made a start on machining a conrod.
...And I've finished the crankshaft...
Our multi fuel stove - repaired.
First step is to set up for drilling 3mm holes to form the corner radii
Sorry, they're a bit out of focus - trying too hard to get the detail in.
This unusual clamping method was the best way I could devise to hold the part firmly enough to machine into the 3mm holes.
Using the unusual clamping method to mill the 109 degree angle set up using slip gauges.
Sorry about the focus.
